How did the name Holymer came about? The story that started with four paws

You might think that coming up with a company name is a process that resembles a complex chemical reaction - hours of thinking, endless brainstorming, analysis, dozens of papers written with ideas. And sometimes it really is. But sometimes it takes much less. Sometimes all you need is a little thing, an ordinary moment from everyday life that turns into a flash of inspiration out of nowhere. That's exactly what happened to us when the name Holymer was created.

It was clear from the beginning that it would not be a dry, technical name. Our mission is to innovate, to create things that are unique, and to always bring a touch of humanity, originality and passion to the table. And what is better way to express all of this than with a name that's not only memorable, but also personal? But... how to do it? The first attempts came quickly. "Poly something," "Technoplast," "InnoPolymer" - the ideas poured out like peas on a floor... but something was missing. None of these ideas had soul. And then came the moment.

Holy, our four-legged inspiration

One day, one of the founders was sitting at his desk and thinking. You know when you have so many ideas running through your head that it's hard to even grasp them all. He needed to come up with something, something to give the fledgling company an identity. Something that would define it not only technically, but emotionally. He looked down... and there sat Holy.

Holy, one of our beloved dog ladies. A loyal partner who never disappoints. Holy was - and still is - an integral part of our team. Her calm presence and faithful eyes can work wonders when things seem to be falling apart. And in that moment, it was clear. "Holy," thought the founder. "This is it. But how do we connect this to our field? How can we make it something more?" And then it came. Holy + polymer = Holymer.

Simple, funny and, most importantly, personal

And there it was. Simple? Maybe. Funny? Probably. Personal? Definitely. That's exactly the title we were looking for. Holymer is not only a reference to our technical world of polymers, but also a reminder that even in the most technical fields, emotions, relationships and creativity have their place. What's more, whenever we say our company name, we think of Holy - our inspiration, our partner, proof that even a dog can be part of something big as building a company.

We have four four-legged ladies on our team who are an essential part of our working days. Holy, of course, is still among them - that quiet pillar that reminds us why we started. Every day, when we work together to develop new products, when we look for innovative solutions or when we try to overcome challenges, we keep in mind that there should be a story behind everything we do. Something that connects us, that gives meaning to our work.
